FLIGHTS: All
entrants will be ranked by using their August USGA Handicap
Index, then, in flights of eight. Pairings within flights will be by
numerical draw as based on September index. Players losing first-round matches
will play in the Consolation Flight. A match that ends all square should be
played off hole by hole until on side wins a hold. The play-off should start on
the hole where the match began. Check with Pro Shop prior to teeing off. Players
losing in the Consolation Flight and Second-round matches of the PC will be
eligible for the Lame Duck Flight on the third day of the
tournament.
PLAY-OFF: The PC is a Match Play Tournament. After the third
week, flight winners will play off for the PC Award and are not eligible for the
regular sweeps. A match that ends all square should be played off hole by hole
until one side wins a hold.
SCORE CARDS: It is not necessary to turn in
your tournament card as long as both players agree who the winner is. Report the
match results to the Tournament Chair immediately after completing play. One
master card per foursome is to be kept for the Handicap Chair. NO Ringer during
the President's Cup Tournament. For uncompleted holes, use the Equitable Stroke Formula for
posting purposes.
RULES: It is the responsibility of each player to know
the rules of match play. Penalty for
breach of rule is loss of hole. If a doubt or dispute arises, a claim should be
made before any player in the match plays from the next teeing ground.
In
match play, the game is played by holes, using handicap strokes as indicated on
the card. A player may concede an opponent's stroke. If a putt is conceded, it
may not be recalled or declined.
Any questions about Rules should be referred to Gena Dells, SLRD Rules Chair.
